I ran into the same issue with MySql, this post helped me get around it: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/1559955/host-xxx-xx-xxx-xxx-is-not-allowed-to-connect-to-this-mysql-server TLDR: create a new db user that can access the mysql db on local host grant the user the required privileges create a user with the local IP address of your machine (i.e. 192.168...) grant this (^^) user privileges start the container: docker run \ -p 3567:3567 \ -e MYSQL_USER= \ -e MYSQL_PORT=3306 \ -e MYSQL_PASSWORD= \ -e MYSQL_HOST= \ -e MYSQL_DATABASE_NAME=supertokens \ -d supertokens/supertokens-mysql
